The third year of practical training at Sound and Vibration took place in the second week of June in Daikin Europe office in Gent, Belgium. This four-day training is designed as a comprehensive practical cycle that guides participants through the complete process of investigation of sound and vibration issues – from the initial introduction to the final presentation of results. Participants first gain a solid theoretical foundation, learn key methodologies related with milestones of development process, and become familiar with measurement equipment and safety procedures. They then apply this knowledge directly in practice, performing real measurements, analysing data, and diagnosing units in conditions that mirror real operational scenarios.
The structure of the program ensures a logical progression: starting with basic measurement, moving through problem identification and structured analysis, and culminating in proposing solutions supported by simulation and analytical techniques. Collaboration plays a central role, with teams sharing insights, presenting findings, and receiving feedback from trainers and management. The final “Reporting Day” brings all elements together, enabling participants to demonstrate the full workflow – from unit modification through final measurements to the preparation and presentation of the important milestone in development process in the presence of senior managers from Daikin Europe.
The training was attended by members from all EMEA development centres, from Czech Republic, Belgium, Italy, Germany and Turkey. They joined 2-member teams so that they can get to know colleagues from another country while working together on a project. The event was successful, thanks to big effort of six trainers, from Daikin Europe and from Daikin Industries Czech Republic.
The training also includes joint activities after the working day, dinner and teambuilding which was an interactive city game in Gent, where participants, divided into smaller groups, try to complete various tasks and puzzles in Gent using a mobile application. All this together ensures an intense experience for the participants, which they confirmed by sending very positive feedback and words of gratitude for organizing this training.
We also organize practical trainings on other topics, such as Compliance or Pipping stress. In the future, we would like to introduce new topics to help improve understanding of technical problem solving in practise.
