DICZ Pilsen (CZ)
The DAIKIN brand belongs to one of the most prestigious manufacturers of air conditioners. Its roots date back to 1924, when Mr. Akira Yamada founded the company in the Japanese city of Osaka. In 1973, the main European office of DENV was established in Oostende, Belgium, where air-conditioning units for commercial and industrial use are produced. The headquarters and warehouse, which the air conditioning units from the Pilsen factory of DICz are transported to, are also here.
The Daikin plant in Pilsen, which produces units for residential use, was established in 2003. The production of air conditioning units started in 2004. The factory in Pilsen is financially and technically connected to its parent companies, which are Daikin Industries Ltd. and the Belgian European headquarters of Daikin Europe N.V. (DENV). At present, Daikin factories are located almost all over the world.
The Czech Republic, and especially Pilsen, were selected for the construction of a new plant due to its attractive location near the German border, fast connection to the motorway network supplying southern Europe and also thanks to the great potential of a high-quality workforce in the region and, in particular, the technical faculties at West Bohemian University.
