History of DICZ

1924

Establishment of Daikin Industries Ltd. (DIL) in Osaka, Japan.

1951

Daikin becomes Japan’s market leader in air conditioning.

1973

Daikin establishes a branch in Europe – the founding of the Belgian headquarters, Daikin Europe N.V. (DENV). Significant investments in the research and development of air conditioning units begin.

1992

The establishment of the Daikin Airconditioning Central Europe (DACE) branch in Prague.

2003

On October 15, 2003, the foundation stone was laid to mark the start of construction for Daikin's new plant in Pilsen. The event was attended by top Japanese and Belgian management along with representatives from the city of Pilsen.

2004

Completion of the construction of DICz's first production hall. On September 29, 2004, mass production of outdoor air conditioning units officially began on the R1 line.

2005

Completion of the construction of the second production hall and the start of production of indoor air conditioning units on the F1 line.

2005

Establishment of the Brno branch. 

2006

Opening of the General Office building for representative purposes, which also includes a showroom showcasing the portfolio of air conditioning units.

2007

The one-millionth air conditioning unit was produced on July 12, 2007.

2012

Establishment of the Development Department (EMEA Development Center) in Plzeň, aimed at developing new products designed specifically for the rapidly changing customer demands.

2015

The 10th anniversary of DICz in Plzeň was celebrated with the participation of top management from the Japanese and Belgian parent companies, along with invited guests.

2016

DICz receives the Super Green Heart Factory certificate.

2021

Construction of a new production hall began. This facility created new infrastructure for the quality department, a modern production line, and a painting shop.

2021

The production of the new Emura 3 unit began. At the same time, the unit won the Red Dot Award and the iF Design Award.

2024

Since 2024, we have launched a new testing chamber. The chamber is designed in the style of a house, with one half being brick-built, representing a Mediterranean environment, and the other half a timber construction, representing Northern Europe.

2024

We hosted a professional conference called "For a Modern Czech Republic," which regularly focuses on the possibilities of modern energy and the use of renewable sources. The event was attended by the Minister of the Environment, Petr Hladík.
