Education makes an essential part in the growth of our engineers within EDC. During October we had an opportunity to hold a special event: Practical training - FMEA/FTA for Sound and Vibration.

What makes this event special?

EMEA design centers of DICz (responsible for indoor unit development) and DENV (outdoor unit) have been working for the past year on development of a system branded as Conveni-pack using brand new refrigerant based on CO₂.

Daikin continues in his strategy to replace R410 refrigerant by new generation refrigerant R32. Since the launch of Ururu Sarara in 2013, the first R32 air conditioner, Daikin has worked to convert his portfolio to lower GWP refrigerants.

Daikin set strategy to replace R410 refrigerant by new generation refrigerant R32 till 2019. In 2013, Daikin Japan developed first R32 air conditioner for Europe, when Daikin Czech took over the raised flag and continued delivering new product with this refrigerant for residential and also for commercial segments to EMEA region.

To reinforce EDC colleagues’ education, we have implemented new tool – LMS.

LMS stands for Learning management system, and it is provided by SAP Success Factors. LMS provides centralized tool that covers the most important areas for education as Training plan, Training realization and Training Monitoring or Evaluation.

After the successful launch of the new R32 refrigerant for the residential sphere, our development department waited a major challenge in the form of the largest project in DICZ for the year 2016/2017 is the introduction of the new R32 refrigerant for Sky Air units. These units are used in a light commercial sphere such as shops and offices / office buildings.

One of our last successful projects is a self-cleaning unit. It is a unique device designed to eliminate the cost of cleaning the filter of Duct air conditioners. These types of air conditioning units are extensively used in hotels and offices where regular maintenance of the filter is required.

One of the latest projects in the DICz development department is the Optimized Heating 4 heat pump. It is a unit designed primarily for the heating of family houses, focusing on the Scandinavian market.

Due to the ongoing expansion and development activities in our Daikin Industries Czech Republic (DICz), three new climate chambers were built. Altogether 10 of them have been built here and we are able to carry out various types of tests.

DICZ development department was established as one of four EMEA Development Centers (EDC) in the year 2012.

Despite the fact that EDC is located in different countries, we need close collaboration on projects and efficient sharing of information and know-how.

As the sale of air-conditioning units is worldwide expanding, Daikin company is constantly dealing with the local requirements for the safety of electrical equipment. These requirements may more or less vary from European Standards.

Since February 2018 the production of completely new type of air conditioning unit has begun in DICz. It is a compact model, that has no competition in its category regarding the size and efficiency.
